Learn to meet stress by cultivating the wisdom of your own body and mind with mindfulness meditation.
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program consists of 27 hours direct guiding of 2,5 hours session one time pr. week and a full silent retreat day. Together we will practice mindful eating, sitting meditation, the body scan, walking meditation, gentle standing and lying yoga and a few communication exercises. As a participant you are willing to practice one hour of homework daily during the 8 weeks. The homework consists of mainly listening to meditation recordings.

Dear friends in Kuwait,
I am a Mental Health Nurse and qualifed MBSR teacher trained at The Umass Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Health Care, and Society.
I come from Denmark and currently living happily here in Kuwait with my husband Niels. Together we have 3 children, our oldest daughter lives in Denmark.
I am qualified to teach MBSR and on the journey to be certified. I have taught the 8 week MBSR program 9 times the past two years.
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a systematic educational 8 week program to teach people to live a healthier and more adaptive life. The MBSR program is 40 years old this year and is founded by professor in Medicine Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD. University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979.
The program is one of the most widely researched mind-body interventions in the world.
The center has pioneered to integrate mindfulness meditation into mainstream medicine, healthcare, in schools, prisons, athletic training programs and in workplaces. MBSR is secular and evidence-based.
MBSR is a educational program and not an alternative to traditional medicine. MBSR is not therapy either.
The program has proven effect on:
Immune system functions
Addictions (smoking, social media, food) and other imbalances.

I teach the 8 week MBSR in our home in Al Salam (close to Surra) and also offer to host classes or workshops at workplaces, hospitals or in private homes. Send me a private message if you are interested.
Volunteer work here in Kuwait:
Al Shaheed Park: I have been offering free drop-in mindfulness sessions in one of my favorite places here in Kuwait in beautiful Al Shaheed Park the past two years. Follow Al Shaheed webpage and Instagram and come to these free drop-in classes.
Hospitals: Hosted drop-in-classes for the wonderful medical staff at the public hospitals Mubarak Hospital and Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Hospital.
Sorophonist International Kuwait: Hosted a mindfulness session for the wonderful voulenteers in this community in 2018.
Manifesto: Hosted a 4 week mindfulness program in the spring 2019.
M.H. Alshaya Company: Hosted a short introduction to mindfulness for a large number of people in for their marketing summit in March 2019.
To teach mindfulness is not a protected domain however to teach MBSR is. As a qualified MBSR teacher I am still joining several trainings, supervision and retreats over many years. I respectfully follow the MBSR curriculum and ethical guidelines. For me it is essential to do no harm.
If you suffer from depression or other mental imbalance or physical ilness kindly consult with your doctor, therapist or psychiatrist before joining the program. If you recently experienced a major loss in your life I suggest you wait and give your self some time before joining this program.
Next 8 week MBSR here in Kuwait begins in October.
You have to join the free orientation session making sure MBSR is the right thing for you. The orientation session is on October 2, either morning or evening. Sign up under offerings.
Only after having joined the orientation session you can register for the full 8 week program.
